Light My Fyre - "Lea" [[SOLD]]

Light My Fyre, also known as Lea, is a Seven year old OTTB mare that is currently training and competing as a hunter/jumper, dressage, and eventing prospect.  Lea is a very solid girl at 16.1hh, with a short back and floaty, daisy-cutter motion. Her jump is steady and willing. The mare is honestly probably the best mover I've ever owned, and I'd be keeping her for myself if I had the money for three horses.

Lea currently jumps 2'9" courses, both in stadium and on cross country. She loves water and is very brave and smart. I've competed Lea at local dressage shows, Eventing Derbies, and hunter shows, where she is already a consistent winner, and her beautiful airy movement receives high marks from judges.

In addition to her immense talent, Lea is an easy keeper. She eats anything and holds weight well. Her legs are clean and she jumps sound without shoes. Due to the increased number of shows I'm taking her to, I have put front shoes on her feet, but they are for protection and are not corrective. Lea stands well in cross ties, clips, bathes, loads and unloads without problems. She is also trustworthy enough to free graze without being held. Her sweet and friendly attitude is loved by all at her barn!

This horse would make a great companion for any rider eager to invest in a young horse that they can shape themselves, but that also wants to be able to compete right away. She's got a solid foundation in all disciplines, a mature brain, and oodles of potential.

I took Lea to the Meadowcreek Fall Horse Trial, where despite rain and deep mud, she wowed judges and rode like a champ! Our dressage test took place in the pouring rain, with a train passing by, but Lea still managed to win herself a score of 34.5 and a third place starting position! She went double clear in stadium, moving up to first place for Cross Country! As you can see by the photos, Lea handle Cross Country beautifully and is maturing through her jump every time we go out. What an awesome experience!

I took Lea to the Andrea Leatherman Cross Country Clinic, where she was perfect and poised and jumped everything in both Stadium and XC with a willing attitude. Her stride is so naturally balanced and rhythmic that the grid work we did on Stadium day was no problem! What a lovely mare!

Lea and I attended the Jim Graham Clinic at Pine Hill in May! Lea was a little rockstar for all three days of this hard-working clinic! She's proving to be quite good at lateral work in Dressage, has already found a nice rhythmic pace in Stadium, and is super brave over the Cross Country course (jumping novice combinations!) Pictures can be found below (Thanks to Kate Rowles for these great photos!):

(For whatever reason, these videos have been squished by Youtube, so if Lea looks unnaturally short and tall, it's because the dimensions of the screen are slightly skewed)

Older Videos

These Videos were taken October 2011 - when Lea was still four years old. Since then, Lea has grown a solid 2 inches, become much more skilled at striding and approach to jumps, and become more fit overall. She's competed at eventing derbies, schooling dressage shows, and schooling hunter shows.

Just an Example of how Quiet Lea is for grooming and tacking up

Lea completing a mini-course in the covered arena. This was the first time she'd ever been at this venue or in this covered arena. Despite that, she was completely unfazed.
